The short answer
- Use Motion when you want a finished first video from a prompt, with little hands-on editing.
- Use Dailies when you want control of the timing: a plan you write, keyframes you can change, and the AI you already pay for.
Side by side
| Feature | Dailies | Motion |
|---|---|---|
| You mainly work by | Editing on a timeline, alone or with your AI | Describing the video and chatting with the agent |
| The AI | Your own app, connected over MCP | Motion's own agent, also reachable over MCP |
| The plan | A Storyboard you write and own | The agent storyboards the scenes |
| Fine control | Keyframes, easing curves and motion paths | Direct edits to elements, or by chat |
Where Dailies is the better fit
The last 10% of a launch video is timing: a card landing on a beat, a reveal that is a little too fast. In Dailies that is a key you can drag, with a graph you can read. Your AI edits the same keys, so you can move between asking and doing within one Shot.
Where Motion is the better pick
Motion can start from an idea, read your site for brand colours and type, and build visuals, voiceover, music and captions. If you have no time to direct a video and want a strong first draft from a sentence, start there. Checked 5 November 2026.
Try Dailies
Dailies is in private beta, so you need an invite. Sign in with yours, or ask for one there.
